Assemblages
I’ve been a builder since I was old enough to hold a hammer, so the evolution to building art constructions was relatively natural. It started after working as an inventor, designer and fabricator for a a Seattle-based, boutique wood game and toy manufacturer. That exposure was the impetus for connecting wood and mechanics together. The rest was coastal heritage.
The pieces are predominantly constructed from found objects, old wood and assorted hardware. For the mechanical pieces, the mechanics range from very simple to quite complex, with up to a half dozen simultaneously moving elements.
Most of the pieces below that are marked as SOLD can be made on a commission basis. New pieces would be different because the found materials would'nt be the same, but they would generally follow the same design. Also, specific modifications can be made upon request, or new pieces can be designed following a unique theme.
Please contact me for information, to purchase or to explore a commission. Thanks!
