Linoprints
Linoprinting is a relief block printing method akin to woodblock printing, the oldest printing method known. Illustrations are hand carved into linoleum, hand inked and hand burnished onto sumi-e paper, a Japanese-style paper made from various plant fibers including mulberry (kozo), bamboo, or rice fibers. Hand pressing each piece insures that no two prints will be exactly the same.
Background colors are applied using giclée printing, an inkjet printing method that provides a museum-quality, high-resolution result. The linocut is overprinted by hand resulting in an authentic, multi-color presentation.
